Fashionable Family Friday: The Joys of Being on the Road
Airborne
For H’s birthday, I surprised him with a visit to the Delta Flight Museum. The recently renovated museum is located on the original site of the Atlanta airport and is filled with a variety of historic aircraft, rare aviation items, and, to top it all off, a Boeing 737-200 flight simulator (the only one open to the public in the country). Part of his gift was an hour’s flight time in the simulator, which H happily used to fly around a virtual Atlanta.

San Fermin in Nueva Orleans
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Louisiana to join friends for the annual San Fermin in Nueva Orleans festival, better known as the The Running of the Bulls… New Orleans style.
We dressed in white, tied red sashes around our waists, and wound our way through town (for charity and fun, of course). While en route, we kept an eye out for the “bulls” — members of Big Easy Rolllergirls and other roller derby leagues across the country. These women dress in wild costumes (featuring horned helmets) and carry plastic bats to “tap” you should you get too close.
We had a grand time! I thought I’d share some highlights

In the second, sister S shows up and brightens the space, just as she does today. (Sister L is apparently oblivious.)
