February’s Hidden Charms
February 21, 2012
I was recently reminded of a conversation that my husband had with a co-worker several years ago. Over coffee he had commented that February was not his favorite month, as it was too gray and dreary. His friend replied that she felt just the opposite — that February embodied beauty in its starkness and clarity. I think of that each time I peer through the bare trees and see what is normally hidden behind the underbrush, or notice quiet colors waiting for their cue to burst forth, or when the air feels crisp and the clouds are extra bright. I have to agree… there’s something special about this month.

I LOVE February! Full of new beginnings. And you are right- I stood the other day looking up in the bare trees. I could see the under bellies of the birds way up at the tree tops. The sun was hitting them perfectly, such that they looked like light globes. I was thinking about their hidden matrix that we don’t normally get to see. Nice post.
