Shocking Toppers

Trader Joe’s has some of the best surprises. These little skull planters greeted H and me when we recently stopped by the store. Their “hairdos” just crack me up.
Fashionable Family Friday: The Finishing Touch

It’s tough when you have to prepare your own birthday cake.
Falling

The trees are just beginning to shed their coats for the winter, so our driveway is full of pine needles, leaves, and various debris. The concrete looks like an abstract palette of nature.
Swirls

Mother Nature never disappoints me.
Fashionable Family Friday: Cause and Effect

If I didn’t know better, I’d think there was some drama happening here. Most likely, I knew I was in for a reprimand from Mom for being in the street.
Foxy!

Just another typical day at Target.
Waiting for Clearance

These bees caught my attention this weekend while H and I were exploring the Lost Corner Nature Preserve in Sandy Springs. It reminds me of the airport as the planes line up, ready for take-off.
Fashionable Family Friday: Pearly Whites

H and I are having our photo taken for the new church directory on Saturday. I couldn’t help but revisit this classic from forty-six years ago.
Glamor Shots

I recently participated in a Raptor Photography Workshop at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Not only was I able to fine-tune techniques and skills, but I also learned about the habits and behavior of these magnificent birds. We were able to photograph a barred owl, a red-shouldered hawk, and a broad-wing hawk, all of which are non-releasable because of injuries sustained before arriving at the center.
Giving Me the Eye

This turkey vulture is a non-releasable resident at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Vultures are not the most attractive birds (quite primeval in appearance), but I find them to be fascinating creatures. I stop by to visit her each time I’m at the center.
