Frightening Fashion Friday: It’s a Wrap!
I loved wearing summer wrap-around dresses! They were fun to get into, perfect for hot weather, and often reversible (two outfits in one — how could you beat that?). I remember several hanging in my closet, all hand-sewn by Mom. My contribution: choosing the fabric.
I’m not sure what I was thinking when I decided on this teal and brown selection… I appear to be wrapped in a Persian carpet. I remember this material was fuzzy, like a terry cloth, which only adds to the rug-like appearance. Not at all dainty like my sister and cousin.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
This past weekend H and I traveled with friends to to see Gibbs Gardens, a residential estate garden in North Georgia. Although it is known for its millions of daffodils, there is so much more to see. The property encompasses 220 acres of landscaped and natural gardens with seasonally blooming plants and trees, natural streams, ponds, bridges, waterfalls, and trails. (H, on the other hand, was a fan of the café’s sandwich collection.) We were so impressed that we bought season passes.

Easter Joy
H and I welcome Easter each year with a blend of families and traditions. The tables are rich and inviting with the everyday dishes from my great-aunt mingling with Mom’s wedding china. Hand-embroidered tablecloths sewn by my husband’s aunt brighten the scene. Our own mix of ornamentation, collected over the years, adds another layer of memories. It’s like having all of our loved ones, past and present, here to celebrate with us on this happy occasion.
