Frightening Fashion Friday: Swept Away
The beach is such a wonderful place to relax and throw caution to the wind, but I may have overdone it here… definitely not my best look. That oversized T-shirt tucked into those very high-waisted, long-legged shorts was lacking the hipness I was probably looking for. At least I can blame my out-of-control hair on the strong ocean breeze.

Multitasking in the Garden
One of my favorite annual events took place this weekend… the Cobb County Master Gardeners Tour. H and I explored five exemplary home gardens, two of which had pools. I mention this because, while I marveled at the colors, textures, and smells of the various plants, H was using his iPhone’s decibel meter app to determine the sound level of the pool pumps (don’t ask). I suppose you could say we each had different goals, but we both succeeded and finished the day with a smile.

Frightening Fashion Friday: The Heathen
I must say, that’s a sweet little hairdo on my head, and in general, I think I look pretty cute. That said, I no longer wear horizontal stripes, especially when they are combined with puff sleeves. Here they only accentuate the fact that the dress looks just a tad shy of being too tight on me.
I haven’t the foggiest idea what my cousin and sister are praying about, but it’s pretty clear that I’m not on the same page. Maybe they know something I don’t.
Morning Tweets
There is a point in time, just as the dawn creeps in, that the sounds of the Mother Nature become magical. Each morning, I delight in waking up to a full-bodied chorus of birds outside the bedroom window, each singing its own tune with a clear, melodic voice. They remind me of an orchestra warming up before it eventually rises to a grand crescendo. (I was so impressed that I made a recording, which you can listen to here.)
Then, just as quickly, their songs seem to fade into the near distance as they move on with their day. They make me smile every time.
