Frightening Fashion Friday: Climb Every Mountain
Although it’s difficult to see my face, I can assure you that that is indeed me in the coordinating red, white, and blue outfit. It’s hard for me to imagine that I actually chose that striped fabric for my mother to sew those pants for me.

Frightening Fashion Friday: Olympic Skaters… Not!
In honor of the cold snap that’s been breezing across the eastern US, here’s a family shot of our own personal ice rink… the frozen output of our basement sump pump. (And no, I’m not strangling my little sister, nor is my other sibling planning to rob a bank.)
Fluttering By
While visiting family this past weekend in Arizona, H and I had the opportunity to explore a butterfly conservatory. Thousands of these gorgeous creatures flitted and darted throughout the atrium, some stopping at feeding stations and others resting just long enough for me to take a few photos.
Veterans Day
My father served in the Army Air Forces during WWII as a flight maintenance gunner. This is a picture of him (bottom left) with his crew somewhere in the Pacific theater.

Frightening Fashion Friday: It’s a Cinch
I did a great job coordinating my colors (note matching shirt and belt) but I must say that those pants were really high-waisted. I’m glad I don’t belt my jeans up like that these days.
Rolling Laughter
A window full of laughing Buddhas greeted us as we wandered through Chinatown in San Francisco a few weeks ago. These little guys really make me giggle.

This weekend H and I revisited Gibbs Gardens, where the Japanese maples were dressed in their full glory.
