On a recent visit to Staten Island, NY, we stopped by Lemon Creek Park, a few blocks away from H’s old home. I love this collection of avian condos (with strategically placed welcoming decoys) positioned on the edge of Raritan Bay. They stand out against such a stark landscape. We didn’t see many birds that day, but it was so bitterly cold that I believe they must have been warm and cozy inside their homes.
