There’s something about this image that just cracks me up… perhaps the dazed look on my sister L’s face, her mismatched dress and cap, my ragamuffin outfit, or that wooly dog.  But mostly, I think it’s because there’s a quirky sense that L is the one I’ll be taking for a walk.

The garden has been teeming with dragonflies lately.  Up close, I find them to be a bit creepy and prehistoric, but I will say that their wings are exquisite.

When I think of signs, I imagine dull directions and general information.  However, signage in the French Quarter of New Orleans explodes with color and intrigue.

I planted milkweed this past spring in hopes of attracting monarch butterflies.  Last week the pods split open, releasing an explosion of silky-fine threads and seeds.
