Ancient Watchman
Passing through the kitchen at church this morning I discovered this creature standing tall with the lemonade and iced tea dispensers. I was told that, as the guardian of the kitchen, he keeps an eye on things.
Walking Stick
Last week at work, I caught this little guy peering in at me as I climbed the stairs. The window is huge and I don’t know where it was heading, but I’m sure there was a plan.

In the Rockies
Nestled in the Colorado mountains just west of Denver is historic Georgetown. Established during the 1859 gold rush, it actually became better known for its silver mines (hence its nickname, Silver Queen of Colorado).
While there, we rode the Georgetown Loop Railroad, visited a heavenly bread bakery, sipped lattes at the local bookstore/coffee shop, and treated ourselves at the ice cream parlor.
Seeing Red
This past weekend our trees were dotted throughout with brilliant red cardinals.

We had quite a few backyard pools growing up, and I can remember feeling every twig and rock under the plastic. Luckily sitting on lumps wasn’t a deterrent.
