I remember as a kid several large maps that hung on our living room wall, as well as at least one world globe used for studies and daydreaming.  I always thought they represented adventure and excitement… I still do.

Don’t let those smiles fool you.  My father’s company relocated us from Florida to snowy Ohio when I was nine years old.  As soon as our school year was up, my mother declared that we were moving back down South, with or without Dad.  He arranged a transfer.

There’s quite a bit of restoration happening in Woodstock, including this beautiful old home slated to become a visual arts gallery and artists’ studios.  Even in its state of disrepair you can feel the creative potential.

While making our way over the trails, we passed by this tree that had been cut creatively into a rest spot.  All of the fungi growing on the bark gave it a lacy and surreal feel.
