Shadow Play

It’s not often that I am at the High Museum of Art at night. I love the play of shapes and shadows with this Roy Lichtenstein sculpture. What a treat!
Good Eatin’

We needed this little snack about halfway through a recent walk.
Happy Valentine’s Day

Sending out a lot of love today!
Fashionable Family Friday: About to Blow

We’re sitting in Yellowstone National Park waiting for Old Faithful to spew forth, some of us paying more attention than others. If I didn’t know better, I’d think I was scrolling through Facebook on my iPhone.
Mardi Gras (II)

While visiting New Orleans last summer, a group of us toured Mardi Gras World, a giant production studio where we got a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Mardi Gras parade floats. It was a fantastic visual overload.
Mardi Gras (I)

The House of Dance & Feathers is a cultural museum in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. This unassuming museum is located in the backyard of its creator and director, Ronald Lewis. Its contents are a history lesson and celebration of Mr Lewis’ participation in the street cultures of New Orleans. His stories rival his collections of gorgeous costumes and beadwork, photographs, paintings, and memorabilia. It is an extraordinary place.
Fashionable Family Friday: Party Girl

Today is Sister L’s birthday, and what better way to start the celebration than with a good, old-fashioned birthday feast.
Repeat Customer

This is happening in my kitchen right now. I have never gotten an orchid to bloom a second time, but this one is on a roll. I am excited beyond measure.
Catching Rays

This little nuthatch eyed me for fifteen minutes or more but never budged, so naturally I thought it was injured. I was just about to transport it to the rehabilitation department at the nature center when it flew off… must have simply been soaking up the sunshine.
Fashionable Family Friday: Divided Attention

I believe the dog was stealing our thunder.
