These ornamental peppers sit on my mother-in-law’s table.  Late in the afternoon, the sun shines across them and accentuates their beautiful shapes and colors.

Well, I can see where I got my affinity for overly large glasses frames.  Dad looks like he’s had enough.

This is one of my husband’s absolute favorite treats.  We don’t see them in the stores too often, but H was delighted to discover that Trader Joe’s stocks these Half Moon cookies as a seasonal item.  (As a New Yorker, he calls them black and white cookies.) We’ve been back twice for refills.

We used to lovingly make fun of Dad’s sense of fashion, especially when he mismatched patterns and colors.  Since I have a tie on (at the beach, no less) that obviously doesn’t match anything, I’m thinking that we must have just given another award-winning theatrical performance… at least, that’s what I hope.

It’s that time of year again when the women of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church assemble apple pie ingredients for their annual craft show.  Things were hoppin’ in the kitchen this past week.

We were a very intense trio.  It looks like something was a-brewin’.

This image was taken a couple of years ago when H and I were visiting the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico.  The starkness of the adobe buildings and landscape is breathtaking.

There’s a fun little ice cream shop in Marietta called SweeTreats.  H and I like to stop and indulge when we’re exploring the shops on the square.  It’s known for blending the flavors to order. Our favorite is Toffee Coffee.
