I have discovered that airports (of all places) often have intriguing art galleries tucked away in various corners. When H and I made a recent visit to the Atlanta airport, we found two window displays filled with exquisite glass art by Georgia artist Hung Nguyen. Delicate glass flowers and insects were positioned in front of garden props and backdrops, their details and colors mesmerizing.

The days have been a bit dreary around here — overcast and gloomy. It’s no surprise that I look for bright and cheery anywhere I can find it.

In the bird world, drama is sometimes difficult to see, but it’s there in the treetops. If you look closely, you’ll see one of several crows harassing a great horned owl, trying to drive it away. On this quiet January day, their noise was almost deafening.
