Nest Eggs

My sister-in-law, C, sent me this photo of the decorative shelf hanging on her patio in Arizona. Thinking C was showing me her still-life presentation, I completely missed the bird’s nest with eggs until she pointed it out. A mourning dove has apparently made this her home for the next few weeks. I believe that I’m as excited as C is!
Fashionable Family Friday: Nostalgia

My sisters and I grew up spending our summers with our great aunt and uncle at their cabin on Lake Wateree in South Carolina. It was a magical place where life was simple and full of happiness and laughter.
On Your Mark!

I know that a lot of people consider squirrels to be troublesome varmints, but I have to admit that they can also be quite entertaining. I enjoy watching their backyard antics.
Bullseye

I was trying to focus my camera on a bird and discovered this delicate spiderweb instead. Beautiful shapes and lines, as if Mother Nature was sketching a piece of art.
I’ll Be Back

H’s mom just got home from a week in the hospital, and I had surgery on my wrist today. I’m a little off my game right now, but I’ll be posting regularly again soon. In the meantime, we’re all taking it one day at a time.
Big Day

Celebrating my birthday all week long!
Breakfast Treat

Tried my hand at homemade pancakes last week. A little heavy, but not bad for no recipe. H loved them!
Fashionable Family Friday: Slumpy and Sassy

I have no idea why my sister and I are dressed alike — it wasn’t a common practice of ours — but here we are. The fashions are nice, but Sister S demonstrates (once again) that it’s really all about attitude.
Anticipation

My mother-in-law, M always surprises me at Easter with gorgeous flowers for the garden and back porch. This year she and I went shopping together and had a delightful time. Look at all this beauty!
Keeping Company

H and I recently took the ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island and back — what a magical view of the city. These seagulls followed the boat most of the way across and rejoined us on our return.
