This American beech tree, with its crazy tangle of exposed roots, grows at the edge of Falls Park in Greenville, SC.  H and I discovered it on one of our weekend excursions. I can only imagine that the portion not visible must be truly magnificent.

    The will to live is amazing. Whether in human terms or in nature. It’s entire root system is onto the surface of a rock and yet it thrives. R
