Rest Stop
June 26, 2012
It’s not unusual for us to find turtles sauntering through our yard. This fellow was rattling the leaves in the flower bed when I discovered him. I’ve read that they like fruit, so there are always strawberries in the house for just such a visit (and for H’s breakfast cereal). It seems like a proper treat for stopping by. There’s no rhyme or reason as to when they appear, and I often wonder what the little road map in their heads must look like. Where are they off to with such determination? Regardless, I’m happy they stop by. I like to think of our house as a friendly checkpoint along the journey.

I love turtles – I even collected little fake versions of them for a while – and I’m totally in awe that you find them sauntering through your garden! Lovely photography – I thought it was big at first, till I saw it next to the strawberry 😉
