A Soldier Remembered

During our recent trip to Holland, H and I had the honor of visiting the grave of Wilford “Rippy” Dixon in the beautiful American military cemetery outside the city of Maastricht.  Rippy, the uncle of a friend of ours, was among those brave soldiers who died while crossing the Waal River during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands.  (The movie A Bridge Too Far tells the story of this World War II battle.)
